SUBJECT: HAZARDOUS RECALL - Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG), Inc recalls certain Convertible Child Restraint Systems (Car Seats) manufactured between November 2003 and December 2005

DISTRIBUTION: WORLDWIDE

In cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. (DJG) voluntarily recalling certain Convertible Child Restraint Systems manufactured between November 2003 and December 2005

Defect: The harness adjustment strap can loosen while in use. In the event of a vehicle crash, the child may not be properly restrained, possibly resulting in an increased risk of injury. No injuries has been reported.

Model numbers affected are:

Cosco®: Alpha Omega®, Alpha Omega Elite™: 22150, 22155, 22180, 22269

Eddie Bauer®: 3-in-1, Deluxe 3-in-1, Deluxe Convertible: 22750, 22755, 22756, 22757, 22770, 22740

Safety 1st® : Alpha Elite™, Alpha Omega®, Alpha Omega Elite™, Alpha Sport™, Intera™, Enspira™: 22151, 22450, 22451, 22452, 22453, 22455, 22460, 22480, 22481

AAFES sold several models during this period and a detailed list of the models sold is attached. Print this list and post along with the recall message.

Production Dates: November 2003 through December 2005

Corrective Action: DJG will contact all registered owners and provide them with information on how to obtain a free repair kit to replace the harness adjustment strap. Those consumers who have not registered their product should visit www.djgusa.com or call 800-219-0509 to order a free repair kit.
